Mindfulness Meditation
“Be where you are; otherwise, you will miss your life.” – Buddha
I love this quote from the Buddha as it simply but wholly sums up the power of a regular mindful meditation practice. We are often so busy trying to get through our ever-growing to-do list, that we forget we are here; that we are alive, and that we are all divine sparks of creation with a wealth of possibilities within us.
When we practice meditation, we give ourselves the opportunity to become increasingly aware of our experience so that we can choose how to respond to what takes place in our lives, rather than feeling like a victim of circumstance.
And when we stop responding automatically, we can begin a path of positive transformation. Regular meditation practice can contribute to overcoming tendencies toward anxiety, stress and anger and can help cultivate positive qualities like openness, confidence and calm, creating a life that feels more vibrant, engaging and ripe with possibility.
And please know, no matter how busy your mind is, there is no such thing as a ‘bad meditator’! All of my classes are focused on bringing kindness to whatever you experience in your meditations. This creates an encouraging and supportive environment where you can be curious about your mind and its tendencies, without the need to judge your experience harshly.
